Good afternoon, everyone! We hope you're enjoying the glorious East Texas weather today!

Here are a few stories for you to check out this afternoon:

1. East Texas authorities are seeking the public's help identifying the man in the surveillance photo above. They say the man stole a Kohler 20 HP motor, a General 5 GPM pressure pump and 100-feet of high pressure hose were taken from the location. The Kohler motor has the number "11" on it. It was stolen in Harrison Co. three miles NW of Harleton. Apparently the thief crawled under a fence to get tot he property he took. More details here.

2.The body of a woman was discovered near Interstate 20 on Monday afternoon, says Jay Webb with the Harrison County Sheriff's Office. Webb said a truck driver traveling eastbound on I- 20 pulled over near FM 450 to inspect his load. After pulling over, the driver spotted something in the woods. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was the body of a white female. Our Jamey Boyum was on the scene today and spoke with officials. He'll share what he learned tonight on East Texas News at 6.

3. An East Texas teenager was killed Saturday night, Kilgore Police say. 17-year-old Kayla Williams was shot around 9pm; the accused shooter left the scene, and police apprehended him later after another crime.

4. Are you job hunting? Here are three pieces of advice to make sure the online job offers you get are legitimate and worthy of you.

5. Many folks were rather alarmed this morning, creating a stir on social media about the shutdown of the Amber Alert System due to the government shutdown. Here's the latest; it's better news.

6. This is an interesting story, and a bit scary, as well, especially if you're a parent.

A 9-year-old MN boy managed to sneak on a plane to Las Vegas - apparently without a boarding pass. The boy walked off a light rail car Thursday and into the Minneapolis airport with plans to travel, but with no ticket. He passed through the security checkpoints of TSA screening. He then continued on to the G Concourse - specifically at gate G4. But it's unclear exactly how he got passed the Delta ticket agent at the gate, collecting tickets. You'll never believe how many miles the little guy traveled!

7. A reminder for you that October is Coats for Kids Month! We hope that you'll make sure to look through your closets soon and take any gently used coats of any size to local dry cleaners that display the KFK logo on their window. You can see a list on the pathhelps.org website, too. The coats will go to local kids who don't have a warm coat of their own this winter!

Here's the link to our livestream, where we'll be LIVE on KLTV.com at 4, 5 and 6. Don't miss it!

We'll see you soon,
