KILGORE, TX (KLTV) - An East Texas man is behind bars after authorities discovered items recognized as stolen property in his vehicle during a traffic stop.

According to the Kilgore Police Department, 26-year-old Taylor Glenn Haydel of Kilgore was arrested for burglary of a habitation after his vehicle was stopped by Officer Amos Owings early Wednesday morning.

The routine traffic stop eventually led to the discovery of stolen items located in the vehicle, including electronics, jewelry and power tools. A Gregg County Sheriff's deputy was present during the initial burglary investigation in which some of those items were taken. The deputy was able to identify some of the property as being recently stolen from a residence in Gregg County.

Haydel remains in the Gregg County Jail. His bond has been set at $30,000.
