EAST TEXAS (KLTV) -
A little East Texas girl who is now in remission after a battle with leukemia has received the surprise of a lifetime.
Four-year-old Becca loves Animal Planet's television show "Gator Boys." which follows two alligator trappers on their death-defying adventures.
Becca especially has a fondness for Jimmy Riffle, who, according to Animal Planet, has been gator wrestling since he was 11-years-old.
"My boyfriend," little Becca calls him.
"Every time they were in the hospital for chemo, that's all she wanted to do was, 'I want to watch my Jimmy' and we started telling her she was gator strong," said Kara Herring.
This little girl's strength and love for the show made it all the way back to Jimmy, who was touched by Becca's story.
"They were doing a road show a little further south and on their way home, they came up and surprised Becca," Herring said.
It was a dream this crew turned into reality and something little Becca will never forget.
"I've never seen her hug somebody like she hugged him. She just jumped in his arms," Herring said.
"It was breathtaking to say the least. They acted like they had known each other from the beginning. Jimmy and the rest of the crew just fit in with us like we were family. So, he didn't come out and act like a superstar. He was Becca's hero and he was Becca's hero," Herring said.
This brave little girl inspires many far beyond her age.
"Even through all of her sicknesses and blood draws and chemos, and even the pain because she does have pain, she's just happy. She makes you, she makes you want to live," Herring said.
It is that love of life and gators that they hope viewers will see through Becca's big debut on her favorite show with her favorite star.
"Gator Boys" airs this Sunday, October 6 at 10 p.m. E/P on the episode "Lone Star Gators."
