STARKVILLE, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Mississippi State forward Wendell Lewis has been dismissed from the basketball program for conduct detrimental to the team, Bulldogs coach Rick Ray announced.

Lewis, a senior from Selma, Ala., appeared in 98 games for MSU, drawing 13 starts. Last year, a knee injury limited his season to just the first eight games.

For his career, he averaged 3.5 points and 3.3 rebounds.

"I am saddened by the actions we had to take because we brought Wendell back to give him an opportunity to complete his senior year on the court healthy and earn his degree," Ray said.
