AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Shortly after 8 a.m. Monday morning, the Firestone Park IGA on Hammel Street was robbed by two armed, masked men.

One suspect ordered the employees to the ground while the second suspect jumped over the counter and entered the office area. The suspects took an unreported amount of money before fleeing the store on foot into the neighborhoods.

Three area schools were notified of the robbery and the decision was made to place the schools on lockdown. The schools have since cleared the lockdown status.

The suspects are two men, 5'05", between 150 -180 lbs. One suspect was wearing all black clothing and a mask, the second suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a mask.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Akron Police at 330-375-2181.
