Winona ISD schools closing at noon after power outage
Winona Independent School District is cancelling classes after a power outage on Monday.
According to district officials, power won't be restored until 2:30 or 3 on Monday afternoon.
School buses will run at noon. If your child is a parent-pickup, you can come to the office and they will call child out of class. Phones are down, so parents are asked not to call the district.
Officials have no idea what cause the power outage, although SWEPCO says that trees hit power lines in the area. The power company says 372 customers are without power in Smith County and 108 are without power in Gregg County.
