Sink or float? E. Texas students build cardboard boats

Posted: Updated:

Nothing makes a better boat than cardboard. Well, okay, so maybe that's not really true, but a group of sixth graders in Palestine had to try.

Nine kids from Christian Heritage Academy made cardboard boats in the fourth annual race as a science class project.

It's the brainchild of sixth grade science teacher, Michelle Mason.

There were also awards given for most creative, most likely to float, and of course, the Titanic award. Surprisingly only one ship sank, although another one capsized. Regardless of how successful their boats turned out to be, or not to be, the splashing good time is a memory these students will not soon forget.
