HUNT COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -
The Rains County inmate who escaped from a Rains County courtroom on Tuesday morning has stolen a truck, say police on Thursday.
Crystal Marie Robinson slipped out of a jury box at the Rains County Courthouse on Tuesday when the officer guarding her stepped away for a moment. Now, sheriff's officials say Robinson showed up at a residence in Quinlan and stole a dark blue 2002 Ford F-150 King Ranch Edition crew cab truck. The back window of the truck has a neon orange logo that says "Metal Roofing and More." The truck has a temporary paper license number 11D3436.
Investigators say that Robinson shaved her head, but left her bangs. They believe she will stay in the Hunt/Rains/Van Zandt County area based on her history. However, now that she has a car, they say they can't be sure.
Robinson was sentenced to six years probation in July for evading arrest with a vehicle and theft by check of less than $500. Authorities said a pending case in neighboring Hunt County may be a motive for her fleeing today.
She is from Rains County, but has contacts in Hunt and Van Zandt counties as well.
If you see Robinson, you are asked to contact the Rains County Sheriff at (903) 473-3181 ext. 137.
