PALESTINE, TX (KLTV) - Two suspects remain behind bars after a drive-by shooting Saturday.

Dakota Kincaid, 18, and an unidentified juvenile were arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred around 4:22 p.m. at a residence in the 1000 block of S. Magnolia in Palestine. Kincaid was arrested on one charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The unidentified juvenile suspect was taken to a juvenile detention center.

The victim of that shooting is a 20-year-old male, whose identity has not yet been released. The victim remained at Trinity Mother Frances Monday afternoon in unknown condition.

Officers responded to the residence to find that the victim had been shot one time in front of the home and was being transported to the hospital by family members. Kincaid had been driven by the scene in a blue Chevrolet pickup and fired multiple rounds from within the vehicle with a small caliber firearm, striking the victim at least once.

The vehicle fled but was later detained by Anderson County Sheriff's Department Deputies for questioning. Officers believe the motive for the shooting may have been tied to a disturbance that occurred during the previous 24 hours regarding the suspect accusing the victim of stealing his girlfriend's cell phone.
