The 'Fuser' headphone jack brings safety to listening

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - If you are a runner, cyclist or someone who just likes to walk around town listening to your favorite music with headphones, this week's test product may be something for you to check out. The 'Fuser' is a small device that allows you to not only listen to your music through headphones but also hear what's going on around you. All at the same time. Sound too good to be true? Well, this week I'm going to Try It Before You Buy It!

Olens Technology sent me a sample 'Fuser' to test out. It's a very simple, small device, that connects directly to the output of your audio device, and then to your headphones. The 'Fuser' has a small microphone embedded in the device and allows you to hear the ambient sounds around you right over your favorite music. I took the 'Fuser' to 4th Street Live in Downtown Louisville to find people to test it out for me. The results were surprising.

"It's almost as if it were an outdoor concert. I can hear everything with the music, it's pretty awesome!"

That was Paul Peterson's take on the 'Fuser' after I let him test it with my iPhone and a pair of headphones. Not a bad start to the day's test!

I found two other young men sitting outside of a coffee shop on 4th Street and they looked like good test subjects.

Christian Tsueda and Max Foote said they enjoy listening to music and were all for testing out the 'Fuser' for me.

Christian said, "I can still hear it (music) and hear you fine!"

Max also gave it a listen and said "I like it. I like it a lot!"

So, the 'Fuser' passes all tests we gave it. It's a little on the pricey side at $29.99 but well worth it if it can help save someone from walking out in front of a city bus while they jam to their favorite music! The 'Fuser' is currently only available online at such retailers as Amazon.com and some others. Just search the web to find where you can purchase one if you'd like and to find the cheapest price.
