Grass fire threatened RV park

A sudden grass fire has crews scrambling out to stop it, before it can reach a nearby RV park.   White Oak fire units rushed to riverside RV park on Highway 42 , just south of White Oak,  around 2 P.M. Sunday.

The blaze was threatening campers and RV's , as pumper trucks were deployed to douse the flames and keep the fire from spreading. The fire was contained to 5 acres and put out, but  for park residents, it was too close for comfort. Investigators believe a tree branch contacting a power line may have caused the fire.
