Home Depot, PWC repair homes of 10 elderly veterans

Posted: Updated:

Approximately 120 employees from Home Depot repaired the homes of ten elderly veterans on Thursday.

The volunteer effort was part of People Working Cooperatively's Ramp it up for Veterans campaign as well as Home Depot's Celebration of Service.

People Working Cooperatively is a Cincinnati-based non-profit that provides critical home repairs for low-income, elderly and disabled homeowners.

Home Depot volunteers spent the day building a ramp at the home of 98-year-old Anna Fields in Bond Hill. Fields served as a nurse during World War II.

Thursday was PWC's effort to raise funds and awareness to serve the 400+ veterans on their waiting list for services.
