TIFFIN, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Family and friends in Tiffin said their final goodbyes to the six people who died in a fire over the weekend.
Anna Angel buried her four daughters at First Lutheran Church Thursday morning. The girls died Sunday morning after their mobile home caught fire. The State Fire Marshal's Office says the investigation is still ongoing and a cause is undetermined at this time.
Hundreds gathered to remember 6-year-old Tiara Angel, 5-year-old Stormie Huey, 4-year-old Trinitie Huey and 3-year-old Sunshine Huey. The bodies of all four little girls shared a single casket, laying in the same way friends and family members say they slept.
"She lost her whole, entire life in a very short amount of time," said Christine Courtney, program coordinator with First Call for Help.
The message of the service was healing through unity: the act of simply being together and supporting each other to get through this tragedy.
"When a tragedy like this happens, the community comes together. And the Tiffin community has been incredible," said Keith Hodkinson, spokesperson for the Angel family.
During the service, friends and family read poems and shared memories of the children. Pastor Mark Boedecker spoke on how all five children led happy and loving lives. He mentioned how they were always smiling, and urged everyone to continue smiling in their memory.
Greenlawn Cemetery in Tiffin has gifted a plot of land for the children to be laid to rest.
After the morning ceremony finished, friends and family drove to Sandusky for the services of Angel's boyfriend, 25-year-old Timothy Fresch, along with their 2-year-old son, Domonic.
"This is the time she is going to need her family and her friends, and quite honestly, the community, to not forget about what happened," said Courtney.
Representatives from a local outreach group have been with the family since Monday, and are confident Angel and other family members will be able to get through this tragedy together.
"She has to go through the grieving process, and as I had said, she has an amazing support system. And once she gets through the grieving process, it's just a matter of rebuilding. And you know, Anna is so strong, and I think that she'll be OK," said Courtney.
A candlelight vigil will be held at the Tiffin Police and Fire All Patriots Memorial Friday night at dusk or 9 p.m., whichever is first. People are asked to bring their own candles to the vigil, if able. A jar will be at the vigil for those who wish to donate. Money will be placed in the fund set up at U.S. Bank.
Donations can also be dropped off at the Burger King on West Market Street in Tiffin, where Angel works.
