TYLER, TX (KLTV) -
A Tyler accountant announced his run for a Smith County office Thursday morning.
Certified public accountant John Furlow kicked-off his campaign for Smith County Judge at the Smith County Commissioner's Courtroom at 9:30 a.m. Furlow will run in the March 2014 Republican primary election.
According to his website, Furlow retired from his position as a Major General in the United States Army in 2009. He established John T. Furlow, LLC shortly after his retirement.
The current Smith County Judge is Joel Baker. Baker has held the office since 2007. He will announce his decision on whether or not to seek reelection in October.
