Angelina Co. Sheriff's Office: Man exposed kids, ages 2 and 3, to meth

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Angelina County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 31-year-old Diboll man Tuesday for allegedly exposing his kids, ages 2 and 3, to methamphetamine. The children's 26-year-old mother was arrested for the same thing on Sept. 13.

Joel Moreno and Amanda Elaine Lowrie were charged with endangering a child, which is a state-jail felony.Moreno posted a $20,000 bail was released later Tuesday. Lowrie was released from the jail on Sept. 14, after posting a $7,500 bail.

According to the arrest affidavit obtained Thursday morning, Child Protective Services received an anonymous tip about possible child neglect and the use of illegal narcotics by Moreno and the children's mother on July 1. On Sept. 4, CPS obtained hair samples from the two children and the parents, who were the primary caretakers of the children.

When the results came back, the parents and both children tested positive for meth. All four family members were the people living at the residence in the 600 block of Burkhalter Hollow. CPS has removed the children from Moreno and the mother's custody.

The East Texan's senior campaign though is likely over. Wilson suffered an ankle injury in the victory and will not play against Rice or in next week's Conference USA championship game.
