Council members say Nashville schools need performance audit

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Metro council members say Nashville schools are in desperate need of a performance audit.

Thirty-six members have joined a resolution calling for the review to help guide their funding decisions.

Council members say an outside expert needs to evaluate Metro's strengths, weaknesses and how much money actually makes it into the classroom.

The last audit was 13 years ago.
