Police say that a man is dead after a motorcycle crash that occurred on Columbia Parkway on Saturday evening.
A report shows that Luther Conn, 55, traveled eastbound in the 5500 block of Columbia Parkway at 7:30 p.m. and struck the rear-end of a 2013 Cadillac Escalade in front of him.
Authorities say that Conn failed to maintain an "assured clear distance" and was not wearing a helmet.
According to an interview between the police and Conn's son, Conn had recently retired and brought a new bike.
Traffic was redirected from the area and Columbia Parkway was shut down for nearly three hours to clear the scene.
Investigators suspect that speed and alcohol may have been factors and are currently investigating the crash.
