Sibling Speak

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

This off-season Callaway needed a new defensive coordinator, so one of their top senior defensive players started thinking who he'd like to play for his last year. After talking with his family, he decided they should keep it in the family.

Senior defensive end Breeland Speaks made the call to Marcellus Speaks, his older brother, to see if he wanted to come coach at Callaway. It all worked out and now the duo are reunited for this season.

Marcellus, a Provine grad and former JSU linebacker, has brought a new identity to the Callaway defense. He's humbled a talented group and made them accountable. So far it's worked as the Chargers have only allowed 20 points in 3 games, all wins.

This Friday will be a big test when they meet JPS rival Murrah.

With or without Tony Romo, the Houston Texans are in trouble at the quarterback position once again. Many Texan fans have been hoping and praying that once Romo is released he will take over in Houston. But whether this happens or not, the Texans need to draft a quality quarterback with their No. 25 overall pick.   Head Coach Bill O'Brien doesn't believe a rookie quarterback could come in and lead his team to a successful season. However, when the other two options ar...More >>
