RUSK COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Rusk County Sheriff's Office says that Glenn Barton, the Kilgore pastor charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, turned himself in on Saturday, but bonded out later that day. His bond was set at $50,000.

Kilgore police said an investigation revealed that Barton, 62, sexually assaulted a child between 2009 and 2013. Prior to the investigation, Barton was a minister at Calvary Way Pentecostal Church in Kilgore.

In March, Kilgore police charged Barton with aggravated sexual assault of a child.  Those charges were ultimately dropped by Rusk County District Attorney Michael Jimerson, who wanted to wait for forensic evidence to be returned before pursuing charges.

Once the forensic evidence was returned, it revealed that Barton could not be excluded as the suspect. Police said the forensic evidence matches the victim's story.

The investigation included recorded audio conversations between the victim and Barton.

The original arrest affidavit states that Barton is recorded as saying,"I expect you to do what we've always done and that's cover for each other."

The statement was followed by Barton asking the victim if he was being recorded.
