Staples makes campaign stop in Tyler

Posted: Updated:

Current Texas Department of Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples made a campaign stop in Tyler Tuesday morning, as part of his 50 city bus tour across the state. Staples, who is running for Lieutenant Governor, spoke to a small group of supporters, who called him a proven and consistent conservative leader.

Among the topics addressed were tax cuts and improving border security, an issue he has made one of the focuses of his campaign.

"This is a fight for our future," Staples said.

Staples said he will fight for limited government, calling it a necessity for the success of the state.

Staples will also make stops in Longview, Carthage, Henderson and Palestine on Tuesday. You can find his complete schedule here.
