TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A Toledo woman was very disappointed with her order after going to a local Arby's fast food restaurant.

Jasmine Schley says when she bit into her chicken sandwich, she got a mouthful of raw meat.

Schley and her husband ordered two bacon-Swiss-chicken sandwiches from the Arby's on Byrne and Glendale in Toledo.

"Half-way through, I thought I was eating a thick piece of cheese," Schley said.

It didn't take long for her to figure out she was eating raw chicken.

"I was appalled. I was shocked," she said. "I couldn't believe that they would actually serve something that was [inedible]."

Schley says she vomited after eating the raw meat, but her husband was unaffected by his sandwich. She says this was something she never saw coming.

"My husband and myself worked in fast food as teenagers and into adulthood, so we know what kind of procedures they're supposed to take," she said. "That night, they dropped the ball."

Schley says she contacted Arby's the next day and they apologized and offered her two free combo meals.

"I kind of feel like it's a push under a rug," she said. "Who would want to have a combo at a place that served them raw chicken? We don't know how often this goes on. I mean, some people might eat it and never look at their burgers."

She says she really just wants Arby's to ensure that they will take steps to keep this from happening again.

Arby's released the following statement:

"Customer satisfaction is our number one priority at Arby's. If we learn that a guest has not had an exemplary experience, our mission is to make it right."
