LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Damage caused by smoke and flames caused a walk-in urgent care clinic to close Saturday morning.

Worthington firefighters responded to a fire around 4 a.m. at Baptist East Urgent Care at 3215 Westport Green Place.

No one was inside when the fire started.

Baptist East personnel were spending the weekend surveying the damage. "It took its toll on the front entrance," Dr. Michael Hannigan said.

Hannigan said he was scheduled to work over the weekend where he, two other physicians and an estimated 14 employees accept patients every day of the week.

"It looks like it's going to take a little while to get it back in shape, but we have locations through the metro to serve our patients," Dr. Hannigan said. There are two locations nearby at 12010 Shelbyville Road and 2400 Eastpoint Parkway.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
