CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A City of Cincinnati employee in the Treasury division has been indicted for theft in office.

Marc E. Corsmeier, 55, listed under Parking Meter Collections on the city's website, was arrested September 3 following an investigation by city administration and police.

Corsmeier is accused of stealing more than $7,500 in coins from the city. The indictment alleges the thefts happened between January 1, 2008 through the day he was arrested.

A memo from City Manager Milton Dohoney to members of council states Corsmeier, a Loveland resident, began his career with the city in May of 1980 and has worked in the Treasury Division for more than 30 years.

He was released from jail on his own recognizance and has been placed on unpaid leave.

An arraignment was scheduled for Friday, September 20.
