LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -
A Gregg County woman remains in jail Wednesday after being arrested on her third DWI charge.
32-year-old Kristian Leeann Cartwright of Longview was stopped by a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper on Monday. She was taken into custody after she reportedly registered a blood alcohol level almost twice the legal limit.
The trooper reported that Cartwright smelled strongly of alcohol when he approached the car. Three of her children were in the vehicle with her at the time she was stopped.
Cartwright was charged with DWI third or more offense and taken to the Gregg County Jail where she remains on $10,000 bond. The three children were released to their grandparents upon approval from Child Protective Services.
This was Cartwright's third DWI arrest since 2009. She is on probation for an April 2010 DWI charge in Smith County. Cartwright was previously arrested for DWI with a child under 17-years-of-age in October 2009.
