Here are some stories we think you'll be interested in this afternoon:

1. An affidavit was released today that states that the Tyler pharmacist who was arrested after a standoff with Tyler police and members of the Tyler PD SWAT team yesterday. The affidavit states that James Carey Prosperie, age 73, repeatedly assaulted a teenage girl. KLTV's Melanie Torre will have more on this story tonight on East Texas News at 6.

2. A Senate panel has voted to give President Barack Obama the authority to use military force against Syria in response to a deadly chemical weapons attack.The vote Wednesday was 10-7, with one senator voting present. The full Senate is expected to vote on the measure next week.

3. The city of Troup has issued a boil water notice in the area bounded on the north by E. Duval Street, on the East by S. Price Street, on the west by South Front Street, and on the south on FM 110 to and including CR 4801. This is essentially all customers in the southeast quadrant of the City of Troup. 4. A 30-year-old Lufkin, Texas man has been sentenced to federal prison for robbing a post office in East Texas. The post office he is accused of trying to rob is in Woodville. Read the details here.

5. Most people do a good job of cleaning the obvious places that germs hide in our homes. A good wipe with antibacterial cleansing cloths or other antibacterial cleaners is a great way to inhibit the growth of potentially sickening germs, which is especially important with the approach of cold and flu season, as well as the recent announcement about the increasing number of whooping cough cases in East Texas. However, there are spots or items in your home that you may not be cleaning regularly.  Check out this list and then go look them over inside your own home.

6. Tyler ISD athletic director Rod Kaspar announced the inaugural class of the Tyler ISD Athletic Hall of Fame Wednesday.  Kaspar says around 80 names were nominated for the first class.  The list was cut down to 12. You can see who made the cut here.
