Tyler ISD announces inaugural Hall off Fame class

Tyler ISD athletic director Rod Kaspar announced the inaugural class of the Tyler ISD Athletic Hall of Fame Wednesday morning.  Kaspar says around 80 names were nominated for the first class.  The list was cut down to 12.

Earl Campbell, Mike Carter, Clifford Gregory, Billy Hall, Daniel Hernandez, Charles Milstead, Kristee Porter, Aaron Ross, Robert Taylor, Dayna Reed Westbrook, Allen Wilson and the 1973 John Tyler Football Team.

"It is a very strong class," said Kaspar.

The hall of fame was Kaspar's idea.  After moving to Tyler, he quickly realized the school district had a long history of success.

"I started realizing there was a great tradition," said Kaspar.  "I thought this would be a good idea."
