HOUSTON, TX (KLTV) -
The Harris County Sheriff's Office confirms Wednesday morning that the three children who were the subject of an Amber Alert have been found and are safe.
No other details were immediately available, but a Harris County Sheriff's Office homicide detective told Houston station KPRC the children were found near Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Authorities were searching for brothers Liam McIntosh, 5, Marshall Peralez, 3, and Korbin Peralez, 1, and their mother, 26-year-old Vickierae Lopez.
According to authorities, Lopez picked the children up from her mother's home in northeast Harris County around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday to return to Las Vegas. Investigators say Lopez has been separated from her military husband, who is stationed in Las Vegas, for about a month.
Officials said that after she left the Houston area, Lopez sent her mother text messages saying she was thinking of committing suicide by driving off a bridge with her children in the car.
Lopez was reportedly driving a white 2010 Volkswagen Routan with Nevada license plates.
KPRC reports the children are in the custody of Child Protective Services and that Lopez will be taken to get psychological testing.
