Scattered storms for Labor Day

Posted: Updated:

A weak cool front is moving through the area this Labor Day and along and behind this front, scattered storms are developing this morning.

Rain fall with some of the stronger storms has been over one inch which is some fantastic news for the dry areas of East Texas.

Overall this activity should begin to weaken around 11:00 a.m or so. However, with a little day time heating more scattered storms should develop along this frontal boundary Monday afternoon.

Now this morning we are not seeing any severe storms across East Texas, but later this afternoon a few of the stronger storms will be capable of producing strong gusty winds like we saw in a few areas yesterday.

This front will move into Deep East Texas tomorrow drying out most of the area. The one exception will be in our far southern counties where isolated to scattered storms will be possible again tomorrow.
