East Texas man arrested 27 times in the same county

An East Texas man who was indicted on drug charges in February appeared in federal court on Monday.

44-year-old Paul Bryan Jones of Kilgore pleaded guilty to drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas. Jones is charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

On September 18, 2011, Jones was arrested for possession of methamphetamine after law enforcement seized 17.26 grams of pure methamphetamine from his residence. He was released on bond of $25,000 but arrested again on December 22. 2011.

Jones faces a minimum of five years in federal prison. His sentencing date has not been set.

He has previously been arrested 27 times in Gregg County for theft, evading arrest, assault, possession with intent to distribute, failure to appear, failure to maintain financial responsibility, tampering with government records and DWI.

Jones remains in the Gregg County Jail.
