Lubbock homeowners help capture burglary suspect

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

On Monday Aug. 26 at 4:51 am, officers were dispatched to a vehicle burglary in progress in the 5800 block of 13th Street Officers observed suspects running from the area as they arrived.

Police set up a perimeter and called in a K-9 unit to conduct a search. Officer Cook and his K-9 Robbie found the first suspect, Thomas Garcia, 19, hiding in a tree in the 5900 block of 15th Street.

As the search resumed, dispatch notified officers on scene that the homeowners at 15th Street were holding the second suspect, Vincent Sandoval, 24, at gunpoint in their back yard.

Both suspects were arrested and charged with vehicle burglary, evading arrest and criminal trespass.
