A freedom rally gave East Texans the chance to chow down, listen to some music, and talk politics with several candidates running for state and congressional offices. Congressman Louie Gohmert was on hand as well as a half dozen other candidates for various races. The republican party of Titus county held a freedom rally at the Mount Pleasant livestock pavilion. The event was open to the public and people were given a chance to register to vote. Organizers say concerns about a change in political climate, was the purpose of their rally. Several hundred people were at the event.
