Suspect now behind bars after being shot by Longview police officer

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -
26-year-old Shaun Antonio Thompson of Longview was taken into custody after being released from a local hospital. A warrant for his arrest was issued August 15.
Thompson was in intensive care after being shot by an officer at Penwood Apartments in Longview. Investigators say he would not follow requests to lower his gun and was shot by an officer.
Thompson is charged with aggravated assault against a public servant and remains in the Gregg County Jail. His bond has been set at $100,000. He has previously been arrested five other times in Gregg County on charges of disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
