An Upshur County woman has pleaded guilty to drug trafficking.

23-year-old Lindsey Noel Rawls of Gilmer appeared in federal court on Wednesday where she pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute heroin. Rawls faces up to 20 years in federal prison.

On February 17, authorities found 37 grams of a mixture containing heroin and 15 capsules, also containing heroin, in Rawls' possession. She later admitted to traveling with William Griffin to Dallas to acquire the heroin. She was indicted by a grand jury on March 27.

Rawls was arrested February 27 in Van Zandt County and remains in the Gregg County Jail under the authority of U.S. Marshals. She has previously been arrested for assault, possession of marijuana and theft.

A sentencing date has not been set.
