After a rocky few years, the Hallsville Police Department said they have put together a strategic action plan to get the department back on track.
At Tuesday evening's city council meeting, the department announced their new vision, mission and core values.
The department said their vision is, "Setting the standard in law enforcement through our F.A.I.T.H. (Fairness, Appreciation, Integrity, Trust and Honesty)." The department's mission is to serve with honor and protect with vigilance. Their core values are C.L.E.A.R. F.A.I.T.H., which stands for compassion, loyalty, excellence, allegiance, respect, fairness, appreciation, integrity, trust and honesty.
Also, Hallsville Mayor Jerri Medrano said the department was able to finance five new police vehicles.
Hallsville Police Chief Paul Montoya said they have reflected over the last year and are pleased with the improvements, but say there is still room for growth.
