Rangers great Jim Sundberg visits Tyler

Texas Rangers all time great Jim Sundberg was in Tyler on Tuesday speaking at the Cavenders Leadership Conference.  Sundberg is a three time all star and member of the Rangers Hall of Fame. Sundberg is in the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame, and caught for eleven Hall of Fame pitchers.

The former catcher is currently the Rangers Senior Executive Vice President.  Sundberg is excited about the Rangers surge into first place, despite the 50 game suspension of Nelson Cruz.

"I think that if you violate it you pay the consequences, said Sundberg.  "Having talked to Mr. (Bud) Selig last week, it's a hard thing to do but it's the right thing to do. This year may end up looking back on as the teflon year. No matter what injury or the Nelson Cruz deal, we still continue to win."

Adrian Peterson Day will have a different feel to it this year for a couple reasons. The 11th annual event to honor the East Texan is taking place in Peterson's hometown of Palestine on Saturday, but there will not be a parade like normal. Also, for the first time, the running back won't be pumping up his upcoming season with the Vikings.
