Tyler Football Classic returning to Grace

TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Grace Community School is set to host the eighth annual Azalea Orthopedics & TSJH Tyler Football Classic August 29-31. Six area high schools will compete in the Classic, which kicks off the 2013 football season.  All three games will be played at Grace's Clyde-Perkins Stadium.  Each game will put a public school against a private school.

"It means a lot to us," said Grace quarterback Chandler Nutt.  "People say the private schools are all the underdogs and everything. I feel like we can stack up against anyone we play. We have a history of beating them so we can keep it going."

Gorman will face Beckville in a rematch of last years 34 to 7 Crusaders win.

"Since we're TAPPS were looked down upon since we're a private school," said Gorman quarterback Tristan Saint.  "But when we can stand up and show what we got and beat a public school, it's definitely something for us."

August 29 – 7:00 p.m. – All Saints Episcopal School vs. Timpson High School
August 30 – 7:30 p.m. – Grace Community School vs. San Augustine High School
August 31 – 7:30 p.m. – Bishop T. K. Gorman Regional Catholic School vs. Beckville High School
