H.S. Tour - Hazlehurst Indians

HAZLEHURST, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

After losing in the 3A title game in 2011, Hazlehurst was determined to get back and avenge that loss. The Indians did just that in 2012, beating Charleston to capture the 3A crown and cap off a perfect 16-0 season.

Hazlehurst does lose some solid talent from that team in two-way star Demetrius Cain and QB Kenny Coleman. Saying that, they still expect to compete for the championship again.

Some guys who played a major role last year do return, Johnkil Skipper on the line, D'Alex Rockingham in the backfield and Dycelious Reese as the WR spot.

Coach Montgomery set up a brutal non-region schedule to get this team ready for late in the year. Hazlehurst plays teams such as Bassfield, Taylorsville and they open Friday against Murrah.
