Phoenix man accused of killing mom's dog

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A Phoenix man is in custody on animal cruelty charges for allegedly killing his mother's dog after it bit him.

Eugenio Yanio Bilbao Jr., 30, was arrested at about 4 p.m. Sunday at his home in Phoenix.

His mother, Rosa De Bilbao, told police she discovered her dog inside two plastic containers that were burned and placed in a closet.

The 2-month-old female Chihuahua was under Eugenio Bilbao's care when it bit him.

After being bit, Eugenio Bilbao allegedly hit the dog.

The Arizona Humane Society seized the the container containing the dead dog. A necropsy will be performed.
