East Texas man pleads guilty to aggravated sexual assault of child under 14

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

A Gregg County man was convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14 on Tuesday.

Authorities say in September 2011, Michael Joe Presson, 37, of Longview, sexually assaulted a child younger than 14.

According to court documents, Presson pleaded guilty to the assault, a first degree felony, and was sentenced to 25 years in prison. He was credited 328 days for time served. Presson must also register as a sex offender for life.
