Good afternoon, and welcome to a new week!

Here are some stories of interest for you to peruse this afternoon:

1. A man charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after firing a revolver at two men during an argument has been sentenced to 10 years probation, 250 community service hours and $900 in fines. Jack Stinnett was arrested in October 2012 near the intersection of Grande and Sutherland in Tyler. More on that story here.

2. An inmate died at the Gregg County Jail early Monday morning, according to the Gregg County Sheriff's Department. The 52-year-old female inmate was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. The details we have confirmed so far here.

3. The East Texas woman accused of plotting to kidnap and kill a pregnant woman was in court Monday morning. 32-year-old Tanya Lynette Bradley of Longview appeared before Gregg County Judge Alfonso Charles at 9 a.m. Bradley waived her right to a trial by jury and will have a bench trial in December.

5. An outpouring of support has already started for a family whose house burned down early Sunday morning in Smith County. Around 1 A.M., a fire started in a utility closet at a home on the 200 block of Senter Ave. in Whitehouse.The house was a total loss, but residents Bob and Leanne Volkert said neighbors immediately started pitching in however they could.   

6. Ten acres burned in a fire in Wood County this morning. The blaze has been extinguished, but the forest service is staying on scene to monitor hot spots. Details here.
