JT Students Bail Set At $2 Million

Bail for a John Tyler student, accused of striking a school security guard, has been set at $2 million. Police arrested 17-year-old Charlton McCree Wednesday.
He allegedly struck a 62-year-old school security guard.
Authorities said the guard asked McCree to remove his cap several times, leading McCree to become angry. Police said McCree later saw the guard in a school hallway and struck him from behind.
The guard fell to the floor and suffered a fractured skull, broken jaw and damage to his eyes.
Police upgraded the charges against McCree to aggravated assault, a second degree felony with a sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
