Police: 12 East Texas businesses sell alcohol to teens during sting

GREGG COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

In a series of recent stings by Longview Police and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission, twelve retailers were found selling alcohol to minors.

On August 14, authorities checked 56 different locations to validate compliance with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code and Texas State Law.

The twelve locations that sold alcohol to minors were:

• 451 S. High Street – Gill Food Mart 
• 4006 S. Estes Parkway – Wal-Mart # 3828 
• 1516 W. Fairmont Street – Zippy J's # 4 
• 128 W. Marshall Avenue – M J Mart # 1
• 310 S. Mobberly Avenue – Mobberly Food Mart 
• 1708 Judson Road – Skinner's Grocery & Market
• 401 S. Eastman Road – Rudy's # 17 
• 1600 Green Street – J & B Food Mart 
• 1026 McCann Road – M J Mart # 2 
• 701 S. Eastman Road – Kwick Food Mart 
• 3305 S. Eastman Road – Food Fast #1077 
• 3607 S. Eastman Road – DC Shamrock 

Class A offense reports were filed against the establishments for selling alcohol to minors. TABC also issued adminisrative citations to each of the businesses.

    The Longview Police Department has stated that both north and southbound lanes of West Loop 281 is closed. The road is closed from Cotton to Enterprise has been closed due to an accident.
