SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

Two suspects in attempted ATM break-in are in custody after a high speed chase from Bossier City into Shreveport early Friday morning, and police are still looking for a third.

Bossier City spokesperson Mark Natale says it all started with a report around 9:30 Thursday night about someone trying to break into the ATM at the Ouachita Independent Bank branch in the 4200 block of Benton Road. When officers arrived, they found the ATM had been pulled from its foundation, but nothing had been taken.

Bank security cameras caught the incident on video, showing individuals in a white Nissan Titan pickup truck with Texas tags attempting to take the ATM by putting a chain around it and then pulling it off its foundation with the truck. The ATM was dragged several feet on the ground before the suspects drove off without taking the machine or any money from it.

Then, around 12:30 Friday morning, a patrol officer spotted a truck that matched the description of the suspects vehicle on Barksdale Boulevard and tried to initiate a traffic stop as it turned onto Westgate Drive. Instead, police say the vehicle continued on to Arthur Ray Teague Parkway heading northbound as the driver accelerated and refused to stop.

Bossier City police pursued the truck onto I-20 into Shreveport and were joined by Shreveport Police, who took the lead in the pursuit.

At one point, the truck exited the interstate and went through a neighborhood before getting back on I-20 heading back toward Bossier City.

The chase ended when the truck went off the interstate between Jewella and Monkhouse Drive, where three people jumped from the car and ran. 2 were taken into custody, with assistance from a Shreveport Police K9 unit.

Gerri Davis, 29, of White Oak, TX and Carl Gearhart III, 30, of Tyler, TX were booked into the Shreveport City Jail on charges of resisting an officer. They are awaiting transfer to Bossier City, where they will face charges of attempted felony theft and felony criminal property damage.

A third male suspect fled the scene on foot and remains at large. Detectives are still working to get an ID on him.
