H.S. Tour - Pearl Pirates

PEARL, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

For the first time since John Perry came to Pearl in 2008, the Pirates missed the playoffs last year. They finished (6-5) but lost their last game to McComb, keeping them from the post-season.

Pearl returns a lot of the starters from that team and a change in districts could help them get back to the playoffs.

On offense they are loaded with play-makers, most notably senior WR Demorrius Brown, junior RB Jordan Wright and junior WR/DB Jermany McLaurin.

Instead of playing the likes of Wayne Co. and West Jones, Pearl now moves back to the north side of 5A and will battle in district with teams such as Ridgeland, Callaway and Germantown.

The Pirates open the season at Clinton.
