MESA, AZ (CBS5) -

There's growing concern about a Mesa man battling severe liver disease who's been missing since July 24, police said.

Brad Woolsey, 54, was last seen by a friend in the area of Brown and Alma School roads.

He also has rheumatoid arthritis and suffers from depression.

Family members have mentioned that he has made suicidal threats in the past and he can be emotionally unstable, officers said.

He doesn't have a cell phone and has little money to live on. Woolsey is known to frequent the open desert areas near Alma School and the 202, police said.

Officers said it's rare for him to be gone for more than a week without contacting either a friend or family member.

Woolsey is described as 5'10" tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has gray eyes.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a light-colored T-shirt and black tennis shoes. He is believed to be riding a purple Schwinn mountain bike. Has a tattoo of a wizard on his back.

Anyone seeing Woolsey or knows of his whereabouts should contact their local enforcement agency.
