MARSHALL, TX (KLTV) -
A suspect arrested in connection with the murder of an East Texas man is set for release this week.
According to attorney Joe Black, charges against 31-year-old William Penn Jones, Jr. will be dropped due to insufficient evidence connecting him with the crime.
Jones was arrested for the murder of 22-year-old Kenneth Dillard, Jr., of Marshall, in May 2012. Dillard's body was found in December 2011 near St. James Cemetery in Marshall. He was reportedly stabbed several times.
At the time of Jones' arrest, Harrison County authorities did stress that the investigation was not complete and other persons of interest were being interviewed.
