GLENDALE, AZ (CBS5) -
A Glendale toddler is in bad shape after getting crushed by a television set.
The 1-year-old child was rushed to the hospital in critical condition with a severe head injury.
The accident happened around 11 a.m. Saturday at a home near 63rd Avenue and Glendale.
Firefighters said they believe the toddler may have been pulling up on the television or the television stand when the accident happened.
"The important thing to remember is always make sure that if it's heavy that it's anchored into a wall or secured some way," said Glendale Fire Department spokesman Danny Senese. "Make sure that it is out of reach or there is no handles or wires that are able to be grasped by the child or be pulled on."
Emergency rescue personnel were told the 40-inch TV set fell on the child's face.
