Posted: Updated:
GILMER, TX (KLTV) -

The Gilmer Volunteer Fire Department, the Pritchett Volunteer Fire Department, and the Texas A&M Forest Service all responded to a fire off of Highway 155 just south of Gilmer.

The fire was burning in a heavily wooded area but, crews were able to knock down and contain the fire, which burned around five acres of land. Officials also say that at one point they had to close down highway 155 for about 45 minutes, because the fire jumped highway 155. They have since re-opened the roadway.

Fire officials have not yet determined the cause of this fire. Nobody was injured in this fire.
