CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Nearly three months after a scandal broke within the IRS regarding the targeting of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, FOX19 has learned an IRS official who oversaw exempt operations at the Cincinnati office has been promoted.

Cindy Thomas, who served as the Program Manager of the Tax Exempt Division, will serve as an advisor to Kenneth Corbin.

Corbin replaced Lois Lerner as the head the agency's "determinations" division in Washington D.C., a group that also oversees the Cincinnati office.

Thomas replaces Sharon Light, who is going to work for the American Cancer Society.

Here's how the dominos have fallen from the top down since the scandal broke:

  • Acting IRS Commissioner Steven Miller resigns
  • Joseph Grant, the acting commissioner for the agency's Tax Exempt and Government Entities division, retires
  • Lois Lerner, the head of the tax division on exempt organizations, put on paid administrative leave
  • Holly Paz, former director of exempt organizations, put on paid administrative leave
  • Sharon Light, advisor to Lerner, leaves to work for the American Cancer Society
