Emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 20 that sent six people to a local hospital. The wreck occurred in Smith County near exit 565.
According to a witness, the driver of a silver Jeep Cherokee was headed eastbound on I-20 when the vehicle began to drift off the interstate to the right. The Jeep then left the road, spun around completely and flipped. The SUV landed on its roof, and rolled back over, now facing westbound on the interstate entrance ramp for Farm-to-Market 2015.
The driver and five passengers were in the vehicle when the accident occurred. Two of the passengers were children. All vehicle occupants were taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
The condition of the occupants is unknown at this time.
